July-August. The Journey Summer School

Learn all about climate change science and start-ups over the summer! Join top-graduates on a journey across Europe
and some of its best universities and businesses. Get the tools to make an impact on the global effort to find solutions to climate change and become an entrepreneur – in only three, or five weeks. You will undergo a vast development, create business ideas related to climate change adaptation and mitigation and leave with an entirely new skill and mindset to really make a difference.

The Journey 2017 will be held in locations in 18 European countries. Sweden is not one of those countries, the picture is from the Journey 2016. Your course will be held in 2 (3 week version) or 3 (5 week version) of those countries. Climate-KIC will cover your accommodation, travel costs and much of what you will eat during the course.

July-September PhD Summer school - The Catapult
 

This two-week Summer Schools have climate-related topics and take place in different European locations. Connecting PhD students from around the globe, the Catapults are hubs for new ideas with interdisciplinary approaches.

Combining knowledge from various disciplines, new skills are acquired and innovative ideas brought to life. A combination of discussions with international academic experts and practitioners, creative transferable skills sessions, inspiring workshops, site visits and assignments create a unique learning experience for our students. In addition to the delivery of knowledge and skills, the programme is about connecting people and ideas.

In the summer of 2017 Climate-KIC offers three editions on different topics and locations:

  • Urban Transitions: Reshaping Urban Districts
    16-30 July in Amsterdam and Bologna
  • Sustainable Production Systems: Shaping cross-company innovation
    21 August - 1 September in Gothenburg and Frankfurt
  • Sustainable Land Use: Sustainable Land Use: Decrease the Environmental Footprint – Increase the Economic and Social Output
    17-30 September Örvényes, Lake Balaton and Valencia

30/9 is the third deadline for proposing Pathfinder and Partner Accelerator Projects in 2017. Lund University is a Climate-KIC partner and researchers and innovators at LU therefore have the opportunity to apply for these projects.
